- Do not point a pressure washer at others, or yourself.
- Do not spray objects with a pressure washer as a way of moving or pushing them.
- Do not use a gas-powered pressure washer in an enclosed area.

- If a unit has tripped a circuit breaker, ensure a qualified electrician checks the unit before putting it to use again.
- Squeeze the trigger of a pressure washer after use to release pressure build-up in the gun, hose, and pump.
- Be extremely careful when using a pressure washer near power lines, electrical boxes, and electrical meters.
- Always keep the spray of a pressure washer away from wires and windows.
- Never secure the gun in the open position.
