Communicating
It is important to train employees in all aspects of jobsite communication such as:
- Keeping track of everyone in the work zone, and alerting others to where you are at all times.
- Making sure others know when you enter their work zone by engaging in eye contact, and not entering unless the other person is fully aware of your presence.
- Ensuring there is two-way communication whenever necessary.
- Informing co-workers when you leave their work zones.
Creating Boundaries
- Aid workers in recognising their machines limits.
- Clearly establish boundaries of all work zones, paying particular attention to those that overlap.
